FIRE AWARENESS – 1 DAY
Overview
This course explains the problems associated with fire safety and sets out good practice when dealing with fire emergencies. Good staff awareness of fire safety and procedures can reduce the likelihood of injury, loss of property or reduced production.
By the end of the course delegates will be able to:
- Understand current general legislation relating to fire safety.
- Identification of fire safety devices.
- Correct use of fire extinguishers.
- Understand the basic requirements of a fire risk assessment.
FIRE AWARENESS – 1 DAY WORKSHOP Eligibility
Candidates must be physically able to attend the course and be free from any injury that would be aggravated during the course duration.

Session 2 Causes of fire
Session 3 How fire spreads
Session 4 Fire classification and Fire fighting equipment
Session 5 Emergency planning and fire drills
Session 6 Introduction to fire risk assessment
Who should attend:
The content of this course is sufficient to meet the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 requirements for all employees. It can also be adapted to train staff to the level of fire marshal. Therefore it is recommended that all employees should attend this course.
